Today’s Legal Enlightenment (Wednesday, May 4, 2022) – “THE PROPER LATE FINE”

Regarding the amount of the fine for late payment of 10% every month of the remaining principal debt, even though it was agreed upon, according to the Supreme Court such a fine is deemed inappropriate because it is contrary to propriety and the sense of justice of the people. According to the Supreme Court, it is appropriate and fair if the late payment penalty is set at 3% every month.
