TWO KINDS OF CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES IN CIVIL CASES

In civil cases, there are two types of claims for damages, namely:

  1. Claims for material damages in the form of losses that were actually suffered and can be calculated based on the amount of money.
  2. Claims for compensation for immaterial damages, namely losses suffered as a result of unlawful acts that cannot be recovered and or cause temporary loss of enjoyment of life, fear, pain and shock that cannot be calculated in terms of money.
