Today’s Legal Enlightenment (Tuesday, November 30, 2021)-THE POWER OF ATTORNEY MUST BE SPECIFIC TO THE APPLICATION FOR APPEAL TO THE SUPREME COURT

An application for Appeal to the Supreme Court that filed on the basis of a substitution of a general power of attorney, not based on a specific power of attorney is NOT ACCEPTABLE because the application for Appeal to the Supreme Court is filed by a person who does not have the quality to act as an attorney. To apply for Appeal to the Supreme Court in a civil case, an attorney must be specifically authorized to do the work, as stipulated in Article 44 paragraph 1 sub a of the Law No. 14 of 1985 on Supreme Court.

Supreme Court Decision No. 2952 K/Pdt/1991 dated October 29, 1994
