Today’s Legal Enlightenment (Tuesday, 19 July, 2022) – “THE JURIDICAL PROBLEM OF FAKE VEHICLE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE”
The Accused from the beginning deliberately gave false (fake) information to the LLAJR Service Officer about the condition of his car. With reference to the Accused’s statement, LLAJR issued a “statement letter” regarding the change in the shape of the car to obtain a new Vehicle Registration Certificate at the Police. The Samsat police relied on the DLLAJR’s statement letter which contained a fake information and then a new Vehicle Registration Certificate was issued for the Accused’s car. Although this Vehicle Registration Certificate was issued by an authorized officer, because the contents were fake, the Accused who used this new Vehicle Registration Certificate committed a crime using a fake letter (Article 263 (2) of the Criminal Code).
